Dublin sessions run either in your own setting or live online; in-person dates are arranged by agreement, and a small travel contribution may apply for early-morning starts on the far side of the city.

Dublin has more early years services than any other county, and with that comes a very particular kind of pressure: high staff turnover, long commutes for the team, and parents who often arrive at collection already stretched. Rather than adding another policy to read, an hour focuses on one workable change: how an adult steadies their own nervous system before a child's, how a transition can be redesigned so it stops producing the same meltdown every afternoon, or how an observation can be written so it actually informs next week's planning. Teams in Tallaght, Swords, Blanchardstown and Rathfarnham have very different intakes, so the examples are adjusted to the rooms in front of us.

For parents, evening online sessions are usually the practical choice — an hour after the children are settled, joined from the kitchen table in Dún Laoghaire or the city centre, with the accompanying booklet emailed so nothing has to be scribbled down while listening. Settings looking for funding, registration or local supports should also keep Dublin City Childcare Committee close to hand; they are the county's own source of truth on those questions, and Roots of Wonder is a complement to that, not a replacement for it.

Can Amy come to a Dublin crèche for a full staff day?
Yes. A Sapling (€599) or Oak (€799) setting package works well for a Dublin team, because the day is built around the rooms you actually run rather than a generic slide deck. Dates are agreed in advance, and for city-centre settings we usually plan around a late-afternoon or Saturday slot so the room ratios are not disrupted.
We are a small Dublin service with only four staff — is a package worth it?
For a team of four, a private group session at €45 per person in person (minimum six) or €35 per person online (minimum five) is often better value than a full package. Some smaller services join with a neighbouring setting so the group reaches the minimum and the cost per person stays low.
Do Dublin parents have to travel to attend?
No. Public parent sessions are online at €20 per person and run in the evening, which suits parents commuting home across the city. Anything in-person is arranged privately, so nobody is asked to cross Dublin at rush hour for a one-hour workshop.
Is there VAT on top of the price?
No. Roots of Wonder is not VAT registered, so the price you see is the price you pay. A public online ticket is €20 per person, in person is €35, and a setting package is €399, €599 or €799 as a flat fee for the whole setting. Nothing is added at checkout.
Are there booking fees?
No booking fees, no card surcharge and no per-person admin charge. You pay the ticket or package price only. An itemised receipt is emailed to you the moment payment goes through, and settings can request a formal invoice before booking so it can go through your own accounts process first.
Do staff get certificates, and do they count towards a Quality Action Plan?
Every participant receives a dated certificate of attendance naming the workshop, the date and the hour completed. Settings routinely file these as evidence of ongoing professional development in a Síolta Quality Action Plan. They are not CPD points, because that requires separate registration with an awarding body.
How long is a workshop and what is included?
One hour, with a take-home booklet for every participant and a dated certificate of attendance for educators. Online sessions are €20 per person and in-person sessions are €35, with €5 off when booked at least two weeks in advance. Private groups and full setting packages are also available.
